Reviewing Tracking Data in WordPress
- View Conversions: Navigate to Scout > Conversions in your WordPress admin menu to review all recorded WooCommerce orders, Easy Digital Downloads purchases, and Gravity Forms entries along with their traffic sources.
- View Visitor Sessions: Navigate to Scout > Sessions to view a master log of visitor sessions, including initial start times, last activity times, referrers, and landing pages.
- Inspect Session Details: Click on any individual Scout Key link to open a detailed breakdown showing complete First Click and Last Click marketing parameters (UTM codes,
gclid, fbclid, msclkid, etc.) and a sequential table of page views. - View Inline Order & Form Data: Access attribution data directly on individual WooCommerce order edit screens, EDD order details pages, or Gravity Forms entry detail pages via built-in Scout meta boxes.
Exporting Sessions & Conversions Data
- Export Conversions to CSV: Click the Export Conversions button at the top of the Conversions page to download
scout-conversions-export-YYYY-MM-DD.csv. - Export Sessions to CSV: Click the Export Sessions button at the top of the Sessions page to download
scout-export-YYYY-MM-DD.csv. - Review Export Fields: Exported CSV files contain complete dataset records, including session IDs, user IDs, integration IDs, timestamps, client IP addresses (if enabled), user agents, and expanded First/Last Click UTM parameters and platform ad IDs.
- Export via Gravity Forms: Include Scout data in standard form exports by selecting the First Click Attribution and Last Click Attribution fields inside Gravity Forms’ native export utility.
Leveraging Scout Data for Marketing Strategies
- Analyze Customer Journeys: Compare First Click parameters (initial awareness driver) with Last Click parameters (conversion trigger) to see which channels top-of-funnel prospects originate from versus which ads close the sale.
- Calculate Campaign & Keyword ROI: Cross-reference order numbers and conversion IDs with tracked ad parameters (
utm_campaign,utm_term,keyword,ad_id) to evaluate true return on ad spend across platforms like Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Advertising, LinkedIn, and affiliate links. - Reallocate Marketing Spend: Eliminate ad budget waste by identifying low-performing campaigns and reallocating budget into top-converting traffic channels.
